New Knits

Here are some of the knitting I did over Christmas. My new hobby is knitting. I have made a couple pairs of fingerless mittens and a dog sweater with a matching hat. I have been working on a couple cowls to wear instead of a scarf.

A white flurry of snow descends as I write. Lots of animal activity at the bird feeder, cardinals, squirrels, small birds that I cannot identify. Snow falls soft and fluffy.

I will definitely reread this book. And I do not do that very often if at all. There were many statements that I thought were perceptive and throughtful. I recommended it to my bookclub. Several didn't like the fact it was a translation and some didn't like that it was about a child. And, they couldn't find it currently at Target. So, whatever. We shall see what they think next month.

Back from Boston

Fast and furious trip to Boston to provide company to LeAnn as she received trombone lessons from professors from the Boston Conservatory and the New England Conservatory of music. My sister, Beth, went along to provide assertive behavior. Day one, we did Harvard square and the Music area by Fenway Park. Day two we did the Freedom trail which took us all the way to Bunker Hill. We stayed in the Theater District downtown. Got to the Principle Mall area and ended up in Tiffanies. Weather went from 50 degrees and sunny on Friday to rainy on Saturday. Saturday night we ate at the "No Name" restaurant by the bay. Got there during a heavy snowstorm. All kinds of weather. Beautiful place and I hope LeAnn ends up going there. I would love to go back and finish looking around. Everyone friendly and the public transit was exceptional.
